Since its launch in September, the i30 hatchback has proved to be a huge hit, with glowing reviews from the motoring and mainstream press, and a growing number of very satisfied customers. And now the estate version looks set to follow in its footsteps.

Like its 5-door sibling, the i30 estate was styled at Hyundai's European Design Centre in Russelsheim, ensuring that it is perfectly in tune with European tastes.

The extra load space has been designed to integrate perfectly with the overall styling of the car. And thanks to the extended wheelbase, there's an impressive 534 litres of luggage space on offer, expanding to a class-leading 1,664 litres with the 60:40 split rear seats folded - enough to embarrass many cars from the next segment up. A multi-section storage tray under the floor, lidded cubbyholes either side of the load area and integral roof bars complete the practical load-carrying solutions.

Just like the hatchback, the estate will be exceptionally well equipped, with alloy wheels, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), air conditioning and iPod/USB and auxiliary input connections as standard across the range.

The i30 Estate should be hitting the showrooms in March2008. Watch this space for further details and prices
